Nintendo today released updated life-to-date sales figures for its current consoles and handhelds, excluding the recently released Wii.
Total hardware units sold:
- DS: 6.63 million US, 26.82 million worldwide
- GameCube: 11.36 million US, 21.2 million worldwide
- GBA/GBA SP: 33.63 million US, 76.79 million worldwide
Total software units sold:
- DS: 21.42 million US, 103.6 million worldwide
- GameCube: 99.64 million US, 198.05 million worldwide
- GBA/GBA SP: 155.59 million US, 347.53 million worldwide
For all Nintendo hardware sold worldwide, total sales have now surpassed more than 387 million units. In software, the company has now sold more than 2.2 billion units worldwide.
Nintendo also released life-to-date worldwide unit sales for some of its key franchises, including:
- Mario: 193+ million
- Zelda: 47+ million
- Metroid: 13+ million
- Pokemon: 155+ million
- Donkey Kong: 48+ million
